Dear Family and Friends,
“He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in His sight.” Psalm 72:14. One cannot turn the news on without hearing mention of Venezuela. President Hugo Chavez has in these last few weeks taken over one of the main television stations RCTV. More and more the people are starting to become angry at his boldness and are beginning to riot in the capital. Please keep Venezuela before the Lord in your prayers. We have several missionary friends currently ministering there. Please pray for their safety. We have not received any negative reports from missionaries, regarding their safety but with a dictatorship things change fast. Please pray for open hearts to the gospel. If the political situation remains the same we may need to enter the country under tourist visas. Please pray that we raise our support quickly so that lives can be reached quickly.
Big things have happened in the Sykes household since our last update, we are now officially on full-time deputation. We are so excited to see what God has in store for us. He has definitely been a good Daddy to us and we are absolutely confident that He will continue to be. Please pray that we will be able to fill our calendar with many meetings and that we will have safety while traveling.
Samuel and Luke are doing well and keep us laughing at all times. Samuel, who is two, loves to sing on the top of his lungs. Luke is eight months now and is starting to crawl. He is quickly graduating from army-style crawl to the real deal. He is teething and loves to show off his toothy smile to anyone who will smile at him. Please continue to pray with us that our boys come to know the Lord at early age and that they will love the Lord Jesus with all their hearts, souls, and minds.
We really appreciate all the churches who have allowed us to come and share our burden for Venezuela. We have definitely been spoiled by the churches and are totally amazed by their hospitality and sacrifice. Believe us when we say it has not gone unnoticed. God bless all of you!
We are so excited to be on deputation full time and are anxious for the day when we will be able to step off the plane in our new home in Venezuela, the land where God has called us.
Because He lives,
Jason, Sarah, Samuel, and Luke
